Dear prospective student, My name is Alp, and I studied English, Psychology, and Neuroscience in Istanbul as well as at St. Olaf College in MN, USA. Last April I received my master's degree in English Literature from Goethe University-Frankfurt, and I was granted distinction for my master's thesis.
Experience
I have substantial experience in teaching English from the beginner's to the academic level. Currently, I tutor a number of English majors in Academic Writing for their term papers, and, to my joy, their grades have improved enormously ever since we started studying together. Previously, students enlisted my help with TOEFL and IELTS preparation, as well. Additionally, I am well-acquainted with the Verbal and Writing sections of many standardized tests including SAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT. For my studies abroad, I have personally taken tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, and GRE; therefore, I feel confident about preparing students for them.

In my free time, I love traveling and have visited almost every country in Europe. Also, I have a soft spot for European, British, and American Art House movies. My favorite directors are David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Lars von Trier, Pedro Almodovar, Tom Tykwer, and Catherine Breillat. Needless to say, I like reading novels and poetry, writing essays, and informing myself about topics that have hitherto been unfamiliar to me. Besides, I care about keeping fit and eating healthily, so I try to engage in various physical activities like swimming, lifting weights, biking, and hiking.
